Surprise Surprise

Sometimes I am not too crazy about surprises but this was an awesome surprise sitting at dinner Monday night and there was a knock on the door, Jason went to the door and brought Mom, Dad and Aunt Jill in the kitchen with him. I had no idea they were coming to visit this week, my birthday week. Being here in North Carolina has so many advantages but being near family is not one of them and it is always nice to have visitors and of course they are never here long enough. We had such a great time; the kids spent each morning at VBS and each day we did something fun. Thanks guys for everything but most of all getting the chance to visit, I LOVED IT!! Last year was a great birthday because we spent it at the beach, this year was great because I had family with me and next year I would like to celebrate the big 40 at the beach with family, start planning for next year!

Last day of swim lessons

Another 2 weeks of swim lessons over and it is just reminding me that our summer break is flying by and it really seems like it just started.

Nothing is more exciting than getting an unexpected package on your doorstep and even better when is filled with racing gear from Grandma and Grandpa. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa what a great last day of school surprise!!

He even thinks he looks silly in his uniform with basketball basket as a helmet, nerf glasses, cell phone at ear to talk to team members, race car slippers and the only glove he could find. Underneath it all he has elbow and knee pads. Will this imagination go any farther, we have a whole summer to find out. I kinda feel like it's time for a real helmet this is the one he plays football in too and sometimes in the front yard. Imagine what anyone passing by our house thinks?!?!

Twirling

Thanks Aunt Jill for the super twirling skirt she added under her tutu today, thank goodness because most days she tries to were it topless. I tried making a top out of the extra material because I would rather have a belly dancer in the house than an exotic dancer but now I have a ballet dancer and that is the dancer I prefer to watch.

Taking the abuse

Most days I think training a dog is a lot of hard work mostly because they do not understand anything you tell them unless you do it over and over and over and over. He has done well with sit, lay down, stay, jumping through a hoop and working on roll over and not pulling me down the street while going for a walk. But since we have had Bodie he has had nothing but love and affection from Delaney and he is starting to appreciate it because he used to just try to chew on her arm and jump on her but now he lets her lay on him, grab him around the neck and even stand over the top of him. The only thing he will not let her do is take away a yummy treat without getting upset.

Teammates

When I take a photo like this I ask myself could they finally be getting along and able to play the same thing or is someone just going along with it to have someone to play with. Either way it is nice that once in awhile they actually get what having a sibling is all about and then of course in a minute someone is mad and someone gets hurt but it sure is a SWEET minute while they are getting along!!!
