Proud moment

This was the night I am so sorry I did not have my camera but since I do have the blog I needed to document this night for Harrison. It was a big night; he had soccer practice from 5:00 to 6:30 but had to leave soccer practice at 6:00 for a baseball game at 6:30. When we got to the game Harrison told me he was going to hit a home run tonight and he did. It was amazing to watch, almost beyond words and really unbelievable that I was able to see the whole thing without being interrupted by Delaney climbing on me like usual. He was so proud of himself, the hit after the home run was just as strong. It seems all these years he wished he played like the big boys and now he is one of the big boys.

Arachnophobia Anyone

This morning while Jason was in the bathroom shaving he called me in and pointed out our new friend right outside our bathroom window, I do not have a fear of spiders but this guy is pretty creepy. I thought of Emily and thought she might appreciate not living in the south where I see more of these monsters than I really care too.
I guess it could be an early Halloween decoration!

Picture Day

Picture day for The Red Sox so I took some pictures in the front yard before he left. It was such a busy day for him, he had a baseball game after pictures and we had to leave the game early for a soccer game. He was more exhausted than we have ever seen him, when he does not talk you know he is exhausted.

To the Beach or Not

I guess we did get the best day at the beach and luckily it was the first day, the weather is so unpredictable during hurricane season and we did luck out on getting at least one fun day there. Since the weather took over on the second day we had a chance to go sightseeing into Wilmington and went aboard the USS North Carolina and then into Wilmington for dinner. We really had a great time doing that too, not as relaxing as I wanted this trip to be but we did have fun and it was educational as well.

Trying to play at the beach in 20 mph winds

No one was going to give in to the weather

The weather is winning

The weather won so went went sightseeing instead

Here we are ready roam all over this ship

The last of 8 search and rescue plans for the USS North Carolina

Under the three 16" guns on the back of the ship

Climbing into the turret of the guns

Jason checking for enemies

Bunk up, there were beds all over this ship

Going down again

The shells that go in the guns were bigger than the kids and weighed 2700 lbs each, took 5 guys to load into guns.

Anchors Aweigh

Captain at the wheel

More guns

So exhausted after a long day of climbing up and down stairs

Another Day of Bliss

What a beautiful beach and what an awesome time we had, it really is amazing how the beach can make all of your cares disappear. The kids had fun running back and forth between our chairs and the water, digging holes, building anything, jumping in the water and I had so much fun watching them.

This beach was perfect, not too crowded with a great breeze.
Nothing makes me happier than knowing we get to do it all again tomorrow

The Beach

The beach trip we have all been waiting for all summer has finally arrived, we made it into Wilmington, NC this afternoon and spent a little while at the Wrightsville Beach after we checked in. After hearing about the weather from Jason for at least the last 2 weeks and worrying about what the next hurricane will do to our plans we finally decided to take whatever the weather had to offer and get on the road. The kids were so excited the entire drive they could not wait to get to the beach and once we got there they were absolutely giddy.

She has finally conquered her fear of the ocean and
I think in this picture she is telling the ocean who is boss now
Finally getting these castles built

Dog in Training

Countless hours of watching the Dog Whisperer and I finally got the dog to do something that does not stress me out and keeps him from chewing up everything he finds.
