Swim Lessons

Today was Delaney's first swim lesson and she had so much fun. They worked on using legs, hands, jumping in, and blowing bubbles and then of course followed the class with playing in the splash zone. For the her first swim lessons she did such a great job and cannot wait to go back tomorrow!

Like Father Like Son

As a parent and a child there is no better feeling than to share your love of anything. Mom and I share the love of many things but nothing so definate as my Dad and my Brother share the love of racing. As far back as my memory goes into my childhood I can remember Dad and Scott going to the races together and loving every moment. During the years turning friends onto racing and taking them with them. Now with my brothers career as a camera operator for NasCar and Indy Car he is living with his passion and love of the raceToday my Dad has the chance of a lifetime and he is standing behind him at the Indianapolis 500 as my brother's spotter on top of the pagoda at the start- finish line, watching for anything my brother may miss while his face is pressed into the camera lens. The best seat in the house proud behind his son at one of his favorite events, this must be a real full circle moment!

The Big Birthday

The day fit for a 4 year old Princess...It started off with her last soccer game of the season receiving a trophy was a highlight of the day because it was her first. We went to see the ballet of Snow White and then to Ray's splash planet for some indoor water park fun and finally off to dinner finished off with gifts and presents and then home to bed. I know both of the kids had a great time but honestly it was a joy watching them have so much fun. Happy 4th Birthday Delaney!

Day Number 2 of birthday surprises arrived yesterday from Grandma and Grandpa with a new dress, two pairs of glittery flip flops cute stickers for another pair of flips flops, a scarf to dress up in, pink finger nail polish and some new undies and Aunt Jill sent a cute skirt and fancy hair extensions. She also received a card and some cute Dora stickers from Aunt Rena, Uncle Beau, Carson, Campbell and Caleigh those stickers are all over papers, water bottles and paper dolls Thanks so much she loved decorating with them. Thanks everyone for such a fun surprise for her. I am sorry I am a little behind because I am battling another sinus infection.

First game of the season and Harrison says he is 100% nervous because his team is playing the team he was on last fall; the Cardinals and they won the championship. Go Phillies, no matter what team Harrison is on they will always be the best in my eyes!!!

School Cowboy Birthday

It was western day and Delaneys birthday celebration at school today. We celebrated Delaney's birthday in class with cupcakes, balloons and cheez- its. The best part of it all was that the Director of the school Mrs. Nancy came to the classroom for the party in her birthday sweater vest and said there was a special message in her sweater for Delaney and she pushed a button and it said Happy Birthday Delaney, I thought that was very thoughtful for her to do.

After spending the morning shopping for cake mixes, icing ingredients and cupcake doodads for Delaney's birthday at school tomorrow we arrived home to Delaney's first 4 year old birthday gift. Her birthday is on the 16th and she cannot wait she really is a party girl and it is not really about her birthday it is just the idea of a party with any kind of gifts that she loves. She received her gift from Nana today and loved it all, the birthday dress, fun pajamas and paper dolls. Thanks Nana for making her day!!!

Happy Mothers Day to Me!

What a wonderful Mothers day I had. Sleeping in until 8:00 and laying in bed watching T.V for a few hours in the morning. Then we were off to Soiree for Brunch in our cute downtown and it was fabulous, I have always wanted to go to there! After Brunch we went home and changed into our park clothes and went to the Lake Norman State Park for a hike and a rest by the lake. I enjoyed the day because I was with my family and it was so beautiful but the kids did not get it that we were at a "PARK" and there was nothing to do except walk. Harrison called it Lake Norman Dull park and Delaney kept asking "when are we getting to the park?"

What a pleasure to be picking strawberry on such a beautiful day. There is a strawberry patch very close to our house and we had a small quart from there the other day and they were so good Delaney and I went back to pick gallons of them today.

Buddies

Puppies and 4 year olds seem to have the same energy level and desire to not listen to you. I think these two are really hitting it off!!

NEW ATTITUDE

BEFOREAfter 7 years of looking for the perfect haircut and barber we may have found it. Harrison has wanted this flip up style for awhile now and we have not found the stylist to give it to him yet and after a recommendation from a friend we found a barber that gave him exactly what he wanted. On the other hand Jason was not so lucky with this barber, he looks like he may be joining the Marines soon. Mom told me that my Grandpa always said "the difference between a good haircut and a badhaircut was a couple of days".AFTER
